Introduction

Air pollution comes from many different sources: stationary sources such as factories, power plants, and smelters and smaller sources such as dry cleaners and degreasing operations; mobile sources such as cars, buses, planes, trucks, and trains; and naturally occurring sources such as windblown dust, and volcanic eruptions, all contribute to air pollution. Air Quality can be affected in many ways by the pollution emitted from these sources. These pollution sources can also emit a wide variety of pollutants.

Monitoring of various gas parameters in ambient air allows us to assess how bad air pollution is from day to day, which areas are worse than others and whether levels are rising or falling. We can see how pollutants interact with each other and how they relate to traffic levels or industrial activity.

Portable Indoor Air Quality Monitor(Air Genius)

Introduction

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) refers to the air quality within and around buildings and structures, especially as it relates to the health and comfort of building occupants. Understanding and controlling common pollutants indoors can help reduce your risk of indoor health concerns. Health effects from indoor air pollutants may be experienced soon after exposure or, possibly, years later.

Gas and respirable particulates in the air are the primary sources that contribute to poor IAQ. Sources can include inadequate ventilation, poorly maintained HVAC systems, wood and coal stoves, non-vented gas heaters, environmental tobacco smoke, vehicle exhaust emissions, building materials, carpeting, furniture, maintenance products, solvents, cleaning supplies etc. The actual concentrations of these pollutants can also be amplified by other external factors including poor ventilation, humidity, and temperature.

Next Sense Technologies made Indoor Air Quality Monitor, PAM-01, is a hand-held air quality monitor with microcontroller based design. It can detect indoor PM2.5 mass concentration, CO2 concentration, TVOC, temperature and related humidity and output real-time measurement. It comes with data logging facility and battery backup.

Optionally the PAM-01 also comes with a built-in Wi-Fi module, for continuous and online monitoring of IAQ index anytime and anywhere by data transmission to any server or a central display.

Portable Particulate Monitor

Introduction

Next Sense Technologies made Portable Particulate Monitors, PPM-01, uses laser light scattering principle based sensors to give accurate and reliable values of particulate matter. PPM-01 is a hand-held air quality monitor which can monitor particulate matter in indoor/ambient air. Particulate matter measurement is taken in three ranges, PM1, PM2.5 and PM10. The PDM-01 has a very easy user interface and comes with inbuilt data logger. Rechargeable batteries provide continuous operation till long hours.
